Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre Visitors Help Fill the Food Bank

Posted on: October 4, 2010

October 4, 2010 SIDNEY, BC — Bring your curiosity and a can of food to the Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre.

The aquarium is Sidney’s drop-off location for Shaw Communications’ Fill the Food Bank food drive – on now. Until November 15th, visitors are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to the Centre and receive $1.00 off regular admission*.

Fill the Food Bank is Shaw’s first initiative under its recently launched Together is Amazing movement. Both Shaw and Campbell’s will match every pound of food donated. The goal is to fill the community food banks across Canada, and the Ocean Discovery Centre is thrilled to be participating. “We have seen first-hand what a community can do when it pulls together. The Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre itself is a remarkable example of community support”, says Angus Matthews, Executive Director at the Centre. “We are thankful for the opportunity to help give back.”
